Fuji Xerox's Latest Document Handling Software - Docuworks 7 Eliminates Tedious Work Processes And Boosts Office Productivity And Bottomlines

Asia Pacific, March 3rd, 2009 - In the current business environment, quick turnaround, enhanced productivity and lower business costs are more important than ever to many companies. Fuji Xerox today launched DocuWorks 7, an enhanced, intuitive document management solution that will help companies achieve just that.

Organisations today receive multiple data in both digital and hardcopy streams from various sources, which may also come in a variety of formats. As a result, problems in the business workflow occur when employees spend too much time physically and manually grappling with document sharing, storage and archival. This affects an organisation’s speed of response to its internal and external customers and ultimately, its bottomline.

Based on a USER-centred principle, DocuWorks 7 is designed to address current and pressing issues of productivity, ease-of-use, business cost and the environment.

User-friendly and quick

The newly enhanced DocuWorks Desk is a digital platform that eases operability by simplifying tasks and increasing visibility for the office. Its new and improved User Interface (UI) allows the effortless management of documents from any source for up to large, 2A0-sized documents. A one-click conversion turns DocuWorks documents into PDFs. File retrieval is also made easier with a thumbnail view and browse function.

With its multi-lingual capability, users around the region will be able to operate DocuWorks easily as it supports up to 5 different languages including English, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean, Japanese and for the very first time, Thai.

Simple and easy document management

The intelligent DocuWorks 7 allows an organisation to unify and centralise its documents by digitising them via a single platform. Its flexibility is an advantage as even after documents are edited, DocuWorks 7 allows the original document to remain accessible via a DocuWorks Desk special feature. Coupled with advanced page-editing functions, its built-in OCR also enables documents to become editable and searchable via keywords so that information can be shared and retrieved easily within the organisation.

Environmentally friendly

DocuWorks 7 encourages a greener work environment with its paperless document management system. Converting hardcopies into digital documents, DocuWorks 7 allows for the same functions as you would have with physical paper documents such as arranging, stacking, binding, browsing, stamping and annotations, secure document filing and distribution.

Reduction of Total Cost Ownership

Organisations minimise expenditure with its seamless integration with existing hardware and software. In addition, less man hours are spent searching for hardcopy documents. And with data transfer, hardcopy printouts are no longer necessary -- saving costs on paper and unnecessary printing. DocuWorks 7 also includes workgroup and file-sharing functions so that documents can be accessed via the network, while advanced document security access control helps to manage information flow.
