Fuji Xerox's latest generation of eco and user-friendly digital colour MFD comes packed with many useable features and now sets the standard meeting the lowest TEC (Typical Electricity Consumption) value
Asia Pacific, November 16, 2009 – Fuji Xerox today launched ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV C5570/C4470/C3370/C2270, a series of high performance digital colour multifunction devices featuring breakthrough technologies that deliver superb colour, speed, better reliability and easy to use advanced features coupled with environmentally conscious engineering.
SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) and departmental offices of MNCs (Multi-National Corporations) can now join in the green crusade by deploying this latest ApeosPort-IV/DocuCentre-IV series as they adopt 'Energy Star' standards that meet the lowest TEC value, boasting a 75 percent reduction compared to conventional MFDs.
Lower Power Consumption Means Higher Energy Savings
Fuji Xerox has developed a high-precision LED (Light Emitting Diode) print head technology 'DELCIS' (Digitally Enhanced Lighting Control Imaging System) that achieves an output resolution of 1200 X 2400 dpi that is equivalent or even superior to that produced by conventional laser raster output scanner (ROS) systems. LED print head technology makes it possible to build smaller devices and reduces power consumption by 45 percent. And by using a newly developed biomass plastic that comprises more than 30 percent of plant-derived constituent (by weight) for the manufacture of moving parts in the machine, Fuji Xerox has have effectively reduced the carbon dioxide emissions during the production process.
For the first time ever, Fuji Xerox replaced the traditional fuser with the new Induction Heating or IH fuser which consumes 25% less energy. This results in the world's quickest start-up time of just 3 seconds.
Using LED as the light source for image scanning enables brightness that is 1.5 times greater than xenon lamps used in conventional devices. It reduces power consumption by 70% while achieving greater scanning precision and speeds.
The fusing temperature of the EA-Eco toner used is more than 20c lower than that of conventional toners cutting power consumption by around 15 percent.
Explained Mr. Koji Tezuka, Senior General Manager, Marketing, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific: "All businesses can play a part in lowering their carbon footprint. Fuji Xerox allows businesses to push the green agenda without having to sacrifice the business applications and security that they need from their Multifunction Devices."
Universal Design - Global User Interface
For easier identification, the parts of the MFD that are most frequently accessed are now featured in dark blue. Fuji Xerox has made this the de facto standard starting with ApeosPort-IV/ DocuCentre-IV series.
Another new feature is an 8.5" TFT touch screen that employs a colourful user interface that has been carefully designed. The positioning of the buttons and the touch screen are designed with the order of the steps of operation in mind, allowing for greater user experience.
This new range of MFDs also allows the printing of images and storing of scanned images directly from and onto USB storage devices.
Other features include Scan to Email, Folder, Home, Network Folder and FTP which make it easier to bring paper documents into the network.
Seamless Customisation
Fuji Xerox's Apeos iiX (Apeos Internet Integration based on XML and SOAP) is a software platform inside the ApeosPort-IV C5570/ C4470/C3370/C2270 MFDs that can be customized allowing users connection to various web applications and the provision of a suite of Software Development Kits for the seamless customization and integration of all business applications.
