Points of Concern

  1. "Device Certificate for Apeos" (hereinafter, referred to as "the certificate") is provided as a standard feature of ApeosPort. However, this certificate is not set up when ApeosPort is shipped. To obtain this certificate, "Device Certificate Acquisition Utility for ApeosPort" is required.
  2. This certificate is only used for ApeosPort. It cannot be used for DocuCentre and DocuCentre Color. Please verify the device type before using this certificate.
  3. You can download this utility from Fuji Xerox Official Website's Download Service page (the same page as print driver). This utility is not bundled with ApeosPort.
  4. You will require ApeosPort System Administrator's ID and Password to import certificate using this utility.
  5. If control panel is being used or print command issued while this utility is in use, this utility will be terminated. When this happened, restart ApeosPort first, then restart this utility and import the certificate again.
  6. If the ApeosPort's IP address is set up in DHCP mode, it cannot be used for SSL server. In this case, IP address may change upon restart, causing the utility to terminate abnormally. Therefore, it is recommended to use a static address.
  7. If email address is not set up, it cannot be used for S/MIME emails.
  8. Please configure the setting to use ApeosPort CentreWare Internet Services.
  9. As the backup file generated when the certificate is obtained by this utility is kept by the user. Please keep it safely. If the backup file is lost, the same certificate can no longer be issued. (Backup file is required to re-import the certificate to ApeosPort.)
  10. As the certificate is issued for a specific ApeosPort (specific model or serial number), it cannot be imported to other ApeosPort.
  11. The validity for the certificate is 3 years from the point it is issued. To continue using the certificate after the validity period, you must import the certificate again.
  12. If the settings for "Email Address", "IP Address", and "Purpose of Use" of the ApeosPort that has obtained the certificate have changed, the certificate has to be re-imported.
