Please read the following limitations of Multi–model Print Driver 2 (MMD2) before you download.

Specification & Limitations

  • MMD2 is common driver for all models, and works with any target models regardless of the differences between printers and MFDs, or color and monochrome.

  • [Paper Size]
    A3, A4, A5, B4, B5, Letter, Legal, Tabloid, post card, custom 1-20. These paper sizes are not applicable to some models which do not support above listed paper sizes, or not applicable if Paper Size Settings (Detection Setting for Paper Series such as A/B series) are not properly set.

  • [Paper Type]
    Plain, Heavyweight, HW Reload, Extra HW, X-HW Reload, and custom 1-5. These paper types are not applicable to some models which do not support above listed types.

  • [Paper Tray]
    With MMD2, Paper Tray can always be specified from Auto Paper Select, Tray 1-4, and Tray 5 (Bypass), regardless of configurations of the target output model. Print jobs will be canceled if nonexistent tray is specified. In most settings, Auto Paper Select is recommended. By selecting Auto Paper Select, High Capacity Feeder trays can also be utilized most effectively.

  • [Duplex Printing]
    MMD2 supports duplex printing. When duplex print job is specified for the output machine which does not support the duplex printing, the output will be simplex.

  • [Other Driver's Features]
    MMD2 supports most features that model specific drivers provide: multiple-up, booklet creation, watermark, skip blank pages, and so on.

  • [Finishing Features]
    Staple, hole punch, booklet creation, folding are available. If the output target machine does not support above features, finishing feature specifications will be ignored.

  • [Security Related Setting]
    MMD2 provides equivalent security related settings and features with model specific drivers. When using Charge Print or Secure Print feature on printer models, some limitations may apply regarding the display of the operation panel.

  • [Image Quality]
    MMD2 can provide comparable image quality output as model specific drivers. For print mode, three types of Image Quality Settings are available: Standard, High Quality, and High Resolution (Some models do not support the Image Quality setting).

  • [Forms, Image Overlay]
    Not Supported.

  • [Configuration Information]
    By using SNMP protocol, Configuration Information of the target models can be reflected to the printer configuration settings of drivers.

  • [Citrix XenApp Environment]
    Citrix XenApp 5.0 is supported. Linkage with Print Utility for Citrix XenApp is also supported.

  • [Linkage with ApeosWare Copy Protection]
    Not supported.
